The Launch of ‘S.K.M. Cinemas’ & Maiden Production titled ‘Production No.1’

S.K.M. Cinemas, the newly launched production house arrives with the motto of encouraging fresh and young filmmakers, by introducing them in the Tamil film industry. Actor and producer Akil has decided to line up more projects with debut filmmakers now.

The production house’s maiden project is directed by debutant Vijay Anandhan, who took part in the ‘Nalaya Iyakkunar’ reality show, and got recognised for his slew of short films based on different genres. With the deepest and insatiable passion for cinema, he self-learnt the art of cinema without assisting any filmmakers. He is now embarking on a journey as filmmaker in Tamil film industry through this project.

The yet-to-be-titled film is a gangster crime drama set against the backdrops of North Chennai. Thenma, who earned wonderful recognition for his unparalleled works is ‘Irandam Ulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu’ and ‘Pothanur Thabal Nilayam’, and ‘Natchathiram Nagargiradhu’ is composing music. Aari is handling cinematography and Ram (B.Lenin sir Assistant) is taking care of editing works. Dharma and Suresh Sugu are overseeing the PR works for this film.

Five budding actors, who have an impeccable acting skill are playing the lead roles in this movie, and a familiar actress is performing the female lead character.

The special occasion, marking the launch of ’S.K.M. Cinemas’ and its maiden project tentatively titled “Production No.1” happened with the presence of eminent personalities from the film industry today (August 4, 2023), who conveyed their wishes to the production house and film crew.
