Following Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s announcement, ‘Margazhi Thingal’ film team pledges to donate organs

Margazhi Thingal to have grand release on October 5

Following the recent announcement by honourable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M K Stalin that state honours will be given to organ donors, the team of upcoming film ‘Margazhi Thingal’ has announced that they will donate their organs.

Sixteen people including the producer of the movie Suseenthiran and director Manoj Bharathiraja met the hon’ble Minister for Family Welfare and Health Thiru Ma Subramanian, and submitted forms for organ donation.

Accepting the forms and congratulating them, Hon’ble Minister of Family Welfare and Health Thiru Ma Subramanian said, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the film crew of ‘Margazhi Thingal’ who have volunteered to donate their organs following the announcement of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. I hope that many others will come forward and set an example.”

The film’s producer and prominent director Suseenthiran said, “The recent announcement by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu that organ donors will be honored shows his passion for the welfare of the people. Following this, we from the team of ‘Margazhi Thingal’ have come forward to donate our organs. Our sincere thanks to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Health Minister for their encouragement,” he said.

Director Manoj Bharathiraja said, “This is a great scheme. I hope more people from the film industry will come forward to donate their organs and inspire the general public.”

Actor Manoj Bharathiraja will make his debut as director through ‘Margazhi Thingal’ bankrolled by Director Suseenthiran’s Vennila Productions. The film has newcomers in lead characters, while ‘Iyakkunar Imayam’ Bharathiraja plays a very important role.

Bharathiraja and music maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja have teamed up after 31 years for this film, which will have a grand release on October 5. The last film they worked together in was ‘Nadodi Thendral’.

Director Suseeenthiran is delighted over producing this movie, which will bring together ‘Iyakkunar Imayam’ Bharathiraja and his son Manoj Bharathiraja, under his Vennila Productions banner.

Manoj Bharathiraja expressed happiness that he got the opportunity to direct his legendary father in his maiden directorial venture, though he made his acting debut with Bharathiraja’s ‘Taj Mahal’ and has acted in various films since then.

Thanking Suseenthiran for producing his first film as a director, Manoj Bharathiraja expressed hope that the movie will be liked and appreciated by all. Manoj, who worked as assistant director to Mani Ratnam in ‘Bombay’, recently met the ace filmmaker and sought wishes for his directorial debut.

Manoj Bharathiraja also said that Ilaiyaraaja’s songs and background score will play an important role in this story which has got a huge scope for music.
