Honorable Minister for Higher Education, Dr. K. Ponmudi inaugurated Jeppiaar University in Chennai and laid the foundation to Economic Quality Education for decades to come.

During his inaugural address, Dr.K.Ponmudi conveyed that JEPPIAAR UNIVERSITY is all set to render quality education with practical training in the domains of Arts, Science, Humanities, Management and Engineering assuring exceptional placement opportunities to the aspiring students.
Dr.K.Ponmudi highlighted the significant contributions in education by the Founder Chairman, (Late) Col.Dr. Jeppiaar for the commitment of this esteemed educational establishment in providing standard education to students from economically deprived sections social setting at affordable cost and sincerely training them to elevate to greater positions in the society was strongly appreciated by Dr.K.Ponmudi.
Dr.K.Ponmudi reminisced the golden words of our Late Honorable Chief Minister Dr. M. Karunanidhi. “Education is not subject to time limits but is a wealth to be sought and acquired without drawing a boundary line till the day of living” and wished the Jeppiaar University to work in compliance with these wise words. Dr. K. Ponmudi conveyed his heart felt commendation to Dr. M. Regeena Jeppiaar, Chancellor, Jeppiaar University and Thiru. S. Murali, President, Jeppiaar University for the right decision at the right time in laying the foundation of Jeppiaar University.
In the 60s and 70s only Madras University and Annamalai University existed But now the situation has changed, there are more than 50 colleges in each district. Dravidian model government is the only development that has happened in education.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister said that during the time when he studied, girls did not go to schools at all, but now a large number of girls are studying in colleges, this is the Dravidian model government…The time when only the upper castes could study has changed and now everyone can study. Everyone is equal. This is the Dravidian model.
Bilingual policy is very important in Tamil Nadu. Bilingual policy of Tamil and English is sufficient for Tamil Nadu. Tamil language is sufficient for speaking in Tamil Nadu and English is sufficient for speaking globally.Other languages are not required so Jeppiaar University should follow bilingual policy…
The new education policy says that public examination should be conducted for class 5th, class 8th and class 10th then the number of students studying will be affected so there is no need for such a policy.Jeppiaar , who grew up following the Dravidian model.
