FICCI FLO Chennai’s “Spark Festive Edit” Event Shines a Spotlight on Inclusivity
FICCI FLO Chennai, a leading women’s business chamber, has proudly hosted the “Spark Festive Edit” event, a vibrant cultural celebration showcasing diversity and inclusiveness. The event, held at Hotel Savera on September 8th, was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr.Tamizhachi Thangapandian, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), South Chennai Constituency.
The Spark Festive Edit was an exquisite blend of tradition, artistry, and entrepreneurship,featuring a stunning showcase of products crafted by FLO members and FLO entrepreneurs.This event opened its doors to FLO members, offering them a unique opportunity to explore and shop for curated items that celebrated the essence of Indian culture.
A standout feature of the Spark Festive Edit was the groundbreaking initiative by FLO’s Diversity and Inclusiveness (DNI) vertical team. They orchestrated an inclusive ramp walk, a first-of-its-kind event that featured differently-abled girls confidently striding down the runway alongside FLO members. This remarkable event highlighted the commitment of FICCI FLO Chennai to promote diversity and inclusiveness in every aspect of life.
This ramp walk showcased the remarkable abilities and confidence of individuals. Two partially visually impaired girls from Lotus Blind Trust and a physically challenged girl, along with a girl with mild Mental Retardation (MR) from Andhra Mahila Sabha, proudly took part in this inspiring event.
In addition to the ramp walk, the DNI team collaborated with the IPD Orthopedic Department of Andhra Mahila Sabha to organize a stall showcasing products created by persons with special needs. This initiative aimed to spotlight the skills and creativity of these talented individuals, offering a glimpse into the capabilities of those with diverse abilities.
