Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS) is conducting a two-day International Conference on Integration and Transformation with Sustainable Development Goals (ICITS 2024)

Chennai, Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS), a renowned university in Chennai, is proud to announce a two-day International Conference on Integration and Transformation with Sustainable Development Goals (ICITS 2024). Scheduled for April 15th and 16th, 2024, the conference will take place at HITS’ Bay Range campus in Chennai. Distinguished speakers from prestigious organizations and institutions worldwide will convene to share insights and perspectives on this important topic.

Mr. C Y Shivaji, Head of EDRC (HRC SBG) at Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Chennai, will grace the event as the chief guest on the 15th while Mr. K.L. Rao, Chief Policy Officer of UNICEF will join us on the 16th as the chief guest. Additionally, Dr. Gnanamoorthy, Chair Professor of the Ace Micromatic Institute and Head of the ARCHMATDES at IIT-Madras, along with Mr. N.K. Patel, President of the Institute of Town Planners India, will be the Guestof Honouron the first day of the conference. Dr. Benny Kuriakose, Architectural Designer and conservational consultant and Dr. Sujatha R, SDG consultant for the Government of Tamil Nadu will enrich the occasion with their insights on SDG as Guests of Honour on the 16th of April 2024. The conference will also be attended by esteemed officials and management members from HITS including Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chancellor and Dr. Ashok Verghese, Pro Chancellor.

In addition to these esteemed guests, the conference will host a total of 30 resource persons and welcome more than 500 participants from leading industries and institutions to engage in discussions on sustainability. The conference will jointly design strategies, harness new solutions and create collaborations to enable the unstoppable movement essential for sustainable development.

As an integral component of the conference, an Exhibition showcasing a diverse array of innovative posters, models, and prototype designs created by students will contribute to the interactive experience of ICITS 2024. The exhibit will be inaugurated by Dr. Natalie Vanicek, Professor, Clinical Biomechanics and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, University of Hull, UK and Dr. Joshua McMullan, Global Strategy Manager-Asia Pacific.

By opening the exhibition to all school students, we ensure a broader reach, fostering a deeper understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the student community. This inclusivity is vital in nurturing a collective sense of responsibility towards achieving the SDGs by 2030. Additionally, such exhibitions act as powerful educational instruments, enlightening both students and visitors. They provide tangible illustrations of the interconnectedness of each goal and underscore the significance of sustainable development in tackling global challenges.

Dr. AjayanVinu, Director- Global Innovative Centre for Advanced Materials from the University of Newcastle, Australia will be delivering the keynote speech for the conference.
