Tamil Nadu Judo Association and Veer Viveka Namo Academy in collaboration with Sports Authority of India launched the 4th Khelo India Women’s Premier League South Zone with the support of Judo Federation of India.
Sports Authority of India and Tamilnadu Judo Association under the auspices of Judo Federation of India, are conducting this fourth version of South zone women khelo India premier league which carries cash prizes to students as incentives.
This current edition shall see close to 1500 fights played over the next 3 days by 800 girls from 6 south Zone states namely Tamilnadu, Kerala, Pond icherry,Andra pradesh,Telungana,Karnataka in 4 age categories vying for national medal honour in the finals to be held in kerala .
12 to 15 years Sub Junior Weight Basic Division 9 types of competitions
16 to 17 years cadet weight basic division 8 types of competitions
18 to 20 years Junior Basic Weight Division 7 types of competitions
Over 21 years senior weight base division 7 types of competitions
This event is also to be seen as a launch pad for taking judo as a career for 70 new black belts to take the art to grass roots to not only teach judo but also impart the values of judo to form a empowered enabled society.
