Mayan – An Intriguing Fantasy Thriller in Tamil and English, directed by J Rajes Kanna hitting worldwide screens on September 19

Time and again, there have been many movies that surprised the film enthusiasts with a never-before grandeur and colossal presentations. Such movies strongly banked its trust upon the unique theme, and the best storytelling embellished with top-notch technical grandeur. Undoubtedly, ‘Mayan’, directed by J Rajes Kanna is the next one to join this league of films, which will steal the public glare. Yes, the makers are creating this film in both Tamil and English version, thereby becoming the first ever Direct commercial Indian English Film. What’s more intriguing about the film is that it will be released in two different versions: Theatrical and OTT. Director J Rajes Kanna has indicated that one of the adaptations will explore the enigma of Maayan and its Calendar, focusing on the protagonist’s journey within it. Conversely, the other adaptation will center on apocalyptic occurrences. This latter version will incorporate a greater amount of computer-generated imagery and animation. Additionally, it will feature a wider array of characters embodying significant values. While both adaptations will share the same fundamental essence, they will present distinct perspectives.

Mayan sets itself apart by featuring the lengthiest graphic sequences ever seen in Indian cinema, with a notable 50% of its visuals crafted through digital production.

The film is written and directed by J Rajes Kanna, who is producing this film for the banner of Fox And Crow Studios & GVKM Elephant Pictures Dato Kanesh Mohana Sundaram is co-producing this film, which has Vinod Mohan and Bindu Madhavi in titular characters with Priyanka Mohan appearing in the English version. The others in the star-cast include Pia Bajpiee, John Vijay, Aadukalam Naren, Sai Dheena, Raja simman, sriranjini, ranjana Nachiyar, Ganja Karuppu, K.K. Menon and a few others.

M S Jones Rupert is composing music for this film. K. Arun Prasath is handling cinematography. M.R. Rejeesh is overseeing editing works, and A. Vanaraj is the art director for this film.

The postproduction work is nearing completion and the makers are planning to release the film on September 19, 2024.
