Bollywood Actor Md Asif Making Waves in Tamil Cinema!

Md Asif, who made his Tamil film debut through Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster Thuppakki, is now impressing audiences with key roles in films alongside leading Tamil stars. He recently acted in an important role in Suriya’s latest release Retro.

Originally from Mumbai, Md Asif has always had a strong passion for acting. His first opportunity came through Thuppakki, a grand film directed by A.R. Murugadoss and starring Thalapathy Vijay. In the film, Asif played a significant role alongside the villain, marking his entry into Tamil cinema. His performance opened doors to several other opportunities. He later played a customs officer in Vettaikaaran, and now shares screen space with Suriya in Retro.

Md Asif will also be seen in a crucial role in the upcoming film Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Chiyaan Vikram.

Speaking about acting with Tamil cinema’s top stars—Thalapathy Vijay, Chiyaan Vikram, and Suriya—Md Asif shared:

“Thuppakki was my first film, and I was quite nervous. But Vijay was very supportive and patiently guided us throughout. I acted with him in action scenes, and he never used a stunt double—he truly shines in such sequences. He treats every actor equally, no matter their stature. I admire his simplicity and hope to work with him again.”

About Vikram, he said:

“Chiyaan is a born actor. Whatever role he’s given, he transforms completely. In Dhruva Natchathiram, I’ve played a very important role, and I’m confident the audience will appreciate it.”

On his experience working with Suriya:

“I worked on Retro for 18 days. Though some of my few scenes didn’t make the final cut due to certain reasons, acting with Suriya was unforgettable. He’s an incredibly hardworking artist.”

Md Asif now considers Tamil Nadu his second home:

“Tamil cinema feels like my own land. It’s here that I feel most free. I’ve started receiving many offers from the Tamil industry now. My dream is to earn a place in the hearts of Tamil fans.”
