Unique & Unprecedented: Made on huge cost, pilot movie of ‘Black Rose’ starring Prithviraj and Chandini Tamilarasan to be screened at film festivals, streamed on OTT
SJ Saran, a Sri Lankan Tamil living in the United Kingdom since childhood, is a successful businessman in London. Thanks to his passion for cinema, he had worked as an assistant director in ‘Mission’ with filmmaker AL Vijay and in ‘Mohini’ starring Trisha helmed by Madhesh.
Also trained under K Bhagyaraj, hailed as king of screenplay, Saran has written and directed a film titled ‘Black Rose’. It is a crime thriller starring Nizhalgal Ravi, Prithviraj (Babloo), Chandini Tamilarasan, comedy legend Nagesh’s grandson Vijesh and Anand Nag in key roles.
In a unique and unprecedented initiative, director Saran has created a high-budget pilot movie for this film. Crafted with the intent of introducing the storyline, the characters, and their traits to the audience, the pilot movie serves as a grand prelude to the cinematic experience that follows.
Lavishly made with cutting-edge technology, the pilot movie of ‘Black Rose’ is set to be released at film festivals and on OTT. Following this, ‘Black Rose’ will soon hit theatres. It is noteworthy that film industry professionals and others who have already seen the pilot movie have praised director Saran for his vision and execution.

Vijayaluxmi and Cloud Pictures have produced ‘Black Rose’. Vishnu Subhash is the cinematographer, while music is by Siddhu Kumar, who gained attention with the super hit film ‘Joe’. Tamil Kumaran is handling editing. Madhan Karky has penned sharp dialogues. Stephanie Hudson and SJ Saran have written the screenplay for ‘Black Rose’. Suresh Kallery handled the art direction.
