E DADDY Launches India’s First ARAI-Approved Multi-Vehicle EV Retrofit Kit at EV India Expo 2025, Announces ‘Electrifying Tamil Nadu’ Campaign to Convert 4000 Vehicles Statewide
Chennai, At the EV India Expo 2025, held at Chennai Trade Centre, electric mobility pioneer E DADDY officially unveiled India’s first and only ARAI-approved EV Retrofit Kit compatible with 17 popular auto rickshaw models. The company also launched its flagship state-wide initiative, the Electrifying Tamil Nadu campaign, aimed at retrofitting 4,000 vehicles across Tier 2, Tier 3, and rural areas of Tamil Nadu by 2026.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Sivarajah Ramaiyah, CEO and Mission Director of StartupTN, and Mr. Mohan K, Founder and CEO of IppoPay, in the presence of E DADDY leadership and stakeholders from across the electric mobility ecosystem.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Mr. Sivarajah Ramaiyah stated:
“Tamil Nadu is not just a startup leader, it’s a state where inclusive innovation takes root. With this campaign, we are bridging green technology with grassroots entrepreneurship, enabling every district to contribute to India’s electric future.”
The Electrifying Tamil Nadu campaign will enable local garage owners, mechanics, and fleet operators to become certified retrofit and service partners. With over 14,000 tons of CO₂ expected to be reduced annually, the campaign also unlocks a projected ₹4.2 crore in carbon credit value, creating new income streams at the local level.
The ARAI-certified retrofit kit launched by E DADDY allows existing fuel-powered auto rickshaws to be converted into fully electric vehicles. Designed for safety, scalability, and affordability, the kit offers a running cost as low as ₹1 per kilometer, nearly 75% less than conventional fuel expenses. It is supported by E DADDY’s Thunderbolt X3 smart fleet platform and E Swap-X battery swap network, enabling seamless performance and uptime tracking.

“This is a turning point not just for mobility, but for livelihoods. Through our kit and our franchise model, we’re inviting thousands of small-town entrepreneurs to lead the EV movement in their regions, without needing large capital or technical teams.”
The company also previewed its upcoming X3 Auto, a fully electric three-wheeler engineered by E DADDY and scheduled for production rollout in 2026. With an emphasis on lightweight design, ergonomic comfort, and smart connectivity, the X3 Auto represents the next generation of sustainable urban and cargo mobility.
Mr. Mohan K, a fintech entrepreneur and Founder of IppoPay, added:
“Technology that reaches the bottom of the pyramid is true innovation. E DADDY’s model puts control in the hands of rural mechanics, drivers, and micro-enterprises—this is what decentralised green development looks like.”
The company’s dealership and franchise program is now open across Tamil Nadu, with an entry investment under ₹20 lakhs. Partners receive full installation training, certified toolkits, marketing support, and access to carbon credit revenues, creating a viable long-term business for garage owners and EV startups.
Mr. Sirajudeen, CTO and Country Head at E DADDY, concluded:
“This isn’t about replacing vehicles—it’s about upgrading futures. The retrofit model allows India to electrify what it already owns, at scale, with confidence and cost control.”
The Electrifying Tamil Nadu campaign will be rolled out in districts including Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Vellore, Salem, Coimbatore, and Erode, with strong support from auto driver associations, local entrepreneurs, and StartupTN.
