VELAMMAL STUDENT PRAGGNANANDHAA DEDICATES HIS WORLD CHESS TITLE TO SUJITH WILSON
The 14-year-old Grandmaster who recently became the World Youth Chess champion, from Chennai made the announcement while he was attending the felicitation event at Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Mogappair on 30th October, 2019 Wednesday. Praggnanandhaa is also a student of the school. During the event, the staff and students of the school observed two-minutes silence and lit candles in remembrance of Sujith.

At the felicitation function, a giant Human Chess Board with the face masks of Praggnaanandhaa and Sujith Wilson was also on display. A cake cutting ceremony was organized for the chess wizard. The interactive session on Praggnanandhaa’s journey to success inspired the students as it shed light on the little masters epic journey to success. A “Dare to Win Challenge was also organized wherein the best players played with the World Youth Chess Champion.
Meanwhile, as part of felicitating Praggnanandhaa, a cake-cutting ceremony was also organised by the school. This apart, a ‘Dare to Win Challenge’ was arranged, where some of the top chess players from the school played against Praggnanandhaa.
The Management lauded him for his brilliant success and wished him on his future endeavours.
