The Kings of square a district level chess competition organised by RYA
Greetings from Chennai Food Bank!
Chennai Food Bank (CFB)an ISO 9001 : 2015 certified, a project of RYA Madras Metro Trust, formed by RYA METRO, is a social service organization “Working For A Hunger Free World “, providing Food Grains to more than 60 orphanages, old age homes, homes for handicapped and mentally challenged. We are in the path of service for the past 26 years (since 1993) distributing more than 10000 kg of Food Grains , feeding more than 15000 people and 2000 animals every month.
The Food Grains distributed in the last 26 years has crossed well beyond 3 crores meals.
Apart from distributing food grains every year we organize events for the welfare of the children of our beneficiary institutions like taking them to Tirupathi, for a day’s trip to Zoo, Theme parks, Movie Shows, etc. At time of natural calamities Chennai Food Bank (CFB) has always been at the forefront by sending relief materials to the affected areas or by distributing food packets to the affected people.
All these have been possible because of the efforts and hard work put in by the metronians and their families . And also because of the generous donation and contributions from likeminded people and organizations.
And now we are organizing District Level Chess Tournament for children on 17th November 2019 @ Shasun Jain College for Women, T. Nagar to bring about awareness of Chennai Food Bank and its activities among the general public . The tournament is approved by Chennai District Chess Association and is going to be arbitrated by an International Arbiter R Ravi Kumar.
And here we are very happy to announce that FIDE Arbiter and Trainer Sri Kameswaran has graciously agreed to be the Chief Guest for the occasion and to give away the winning prizes along with Grandmaster Gukesh . Grandmaster Gukesh is the second youngest person in the history to be awared the title of Grandmater by FIDE. Other prominent personalities to grace the tournament are Grandmaster Deepan Chakravarthy and Grandmaster Adhiban Bhaskaran.
