Rupay ProVolleyball Ball League orchestrated by Baseline Ventures in strategic alliance with Volleyball Federation of India & Sony indeed created a great branding for Volleyball as a sport besides fuelling the aspirations of Volley Lovers. Ltd., the Calicut Heroes owned by Beacon Sports, the Chennai Spartans owned by Chennai Spartans Sports Pvt. Ltd., U Mumba Volley owned by U Sports, the Black Hawks Hyderabad owned by Agile Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and the Kochi Blue Spikers.
Chennai Spartans were crowned as the winners of the inaugural Pro Volleyball League as they beat Calicut Heroes in straight sets 3-0 (15-11; 15-12; 16-14) in the final. As a result of winning the first edition of the league, Chennai Spartans also qualify for the FIVB Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship. Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship is a cherrypick of world-class talents from all the 6 teams.
Chennai Spartans to commemorate the thundering success held a thanks-giving event on 13th April, 2019 to express the heartfelt gratitude to the whole eco-system that has catalyzed their success. Chennai Spartans with the total conviction of unique winning recipe of perfect balance of mind-muscle balance, commemorated co-franchisee owners of PVL, Baseline Ventures, VFI, Sports Equipment Partner (Spartans), Branding Partners (Arrit Events), Strategic Business Partners (First Feet), Social Media Partner (E21 Designs), & all the players.
While expressing the words of gratitude, Chennai Spartans also unveiled the team composition of FIVB Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.
Participating in the event Dr MH Kumara- Level 3 Coach of FIVB commented – “It’s a great victory, everyone contributed to the win. We don’t have one hero, but heroes, it’s a team sport. They reached the final without suffering [the pain of defeat], but we came here with a lot of suffering and it prepared us for the final. When we assembled at the team hotel, I could see the players’ readiness for a match like this. The Chennai crowd made the victory possible for us,” he said.
