Chennai gets its youngest Mayor Priya takes oath of office

R Priya sworn in as new Mayor of Greater Chennai Corporation after she was elected unopposed on Friday.

Chennai: Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Chennai Corporation Commissioner, administered oath to the new Mayor at the city council. State ministers PK Sekar Babu and Ma Subramanian were also presented in the event. PK Sekar Babu and Ma Subramanian handed over the customary sceptre to Priya.

Priya is a relative of former DMK MLA Sengai Sivam and she won from ward 74 in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar zone.
