93rd Tamilnadu State Senior Athletic championships – 2021 inaugurated by Minister Thiru.SIVA M. MEYYANATHAN at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to be held from 15th to 17th October 2021.

 The 93rd TAMILNADU STATE SENIOR ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held in J.N. Stadium, Chennai from 15 to 17th October, 2021  Nearly 2300 athletes all over from Tamilnadu will be taking part in this meet. First time TNAA is conducting Veterans athletic events from age group of 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+.

Thiru. Paranthaman MLA, Egmore constituency was the Chief Guests Thiru. SIVA M. MEYYANATHAN, Hon’ble minister, for Environment – Climate Change and, Youth Welfare and sports development, Government of Tamilnadu inaugurated the championships.

46 events for Men and Women category and 74 events for Veterans Men and Women category will be conducted in this 3 days meet. The selected athletes from this championships will represent Tamilnadu in the fourth coming National competitions. First 3 place winners of each event will be awarded with medal and certificate.

In accordance to the medal Tas, Team Championships in Men section Women section and Overall championships will be awarded.

Day 1 Final Results:-
 
M Mariappan, with a timing of 1:54:46, bagged a gold in the 800m men’s event at the 93rd Tamil Nadu state senior athletic championships held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here on Friday. About 2300 athletes from all over the state are taking part in the three-day event. For the first time TNAA is also conducting events for veterans in various age groups.
 

Men: 800m: 1 M Mariappan 1:54:46, 2 R Dinesh 1:54:91, 3 VB Arunkrishna 1:55:32; 100m: 1 Elakiadasan (SR)10:49, 2. A Vignesh (Rockfort Star)10:70, 3. G Kathiravan (Rockfort Star) 10:74. Women: 800m: 1 K Saundarya 2:16:85, 2 R Ramya 2:18:09, 3 R Krithika 2:18:40. 100m: 1 R Giridharani (Agsar Sport) 12:17, 2 S Sriireshma (Indian Bank) 12:35. 3 Akshaya Sara (Dolphins AT) 12:79.
