Vikram – Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan wrapped up; Chiyaan says he ”had some of the most evocative experiences as an actor”

Looks like we will get to witness Pa Ranjith’s next magnum opus, Thangalaan, sooner than we thought as the makers have already wrapped up the period film. Actor Vikram, who is playing the titular role in the film, took to Twitter to share the news with fans. Along with the news, Vikram also shared two cool pictures from the sets of the movie with director Pa Ranjith, and Produced by Studio Green K.E.Gnanavel Raja. The star cast of the much-awaited film also includes Parvathy, Pasupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltigarone, Harikrishnan and others.  Thangalaan has music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Kishor Kumar and editing by Selva RK with stunts by Stunner Sam. The film’s shooting has almost been wrapped up, and it will soon move into postproduction. The movie will premiere at prestigious film festivals around the world before a grand theatrical release on a festival date in 2024.

Sharing the photos, Vikram wrote, “And it’s a wrap! What a journey! Worked with some of the most amazing people and had some of the most evocative experiences as an actor. Was it just 118 working days between the first picture and the last. Thank you Ranjit for making us live this dream. Every single day.”

Thangalaan is set in Kolar Gold Mines, and it is a period drama about the fight over the land between the indigenous people of the area and foreign forces. The promo showed that the film will offer a grand theatrical experience. Looks like there are war sequences and bloodshed in the movie, which is based on true events.

Thangalaan also stars Pasupathy, who delivered a wonderful performance in Pa Ranjith’s Sarpatta Parambarai. English actor Daniel Caltagirone is playing a role in the film, which has music by GV Prakash Kumar. It is said that the movie will hit screens next year in April. However, makers are yet to announce the release date and other details of the film.
