KPY Bala to make his hero debut in ‘Gandhi Kannadi’ – First Look Released

This emotionally resonant and sincere drama marks the launch of Adhimulam Creations into Tamil cinema with a story that’s both heartfelt and rooted in reality.
Mr. JayiKiran, the driving force behind Adhimulam Creations and a seasoned hand in film production, takes a passionate leap as producer with this meaningful project. Sharing his thoughts, he says: “Gandhi Kannadi is not just our first film—it’s a story that moved me deeply. The sincerity and emotion in the script are what made me want to bring it to life. KPY Bala, who has made a mark with his humor and humanity, now steps into the spotlight with his first-ever lead role in Gandhi Kannadi. He portrays an emotionally layered protagonist in this true story-based, feel-good drama.
Director Sherief, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed Ranam Aram Thavarel, brings his signature emotional depth to this film as well. He has written the story and screenplay and is excited about this new chapter in his journey.
He shares:
“Gandhi Kannadi is very personal to me. After the emotional weight of Ranam Aram Thavarel, I wanted to shift to something more grounded and uplifting. The moment I narrated the story to our producer, his instant approval gave me all the motivation I needed. It’s Bala’s debut as a hero, and having Balaji Sakthivel sir and Archana ma’am—both National Award-winners—along with Namitha in a key role, really strengthens the film. I’m confident that we’ve created a film that’s honest and full of heart.”
The film also stars actress Namitha as the female lead, with National Award-winning filmmaker-actor Balaji Sakthivel and veteran actress Archana in pivotal roles.
