Gautham Karthik’s collaboration with A.P.V. Maran and ‘Dada’ fame director Ganesh K Babu of M.G. Studios!
Handsome and promising actor Gautham Karthik embarked on his acting journey in the film industry through Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kadal’ and continued to win praise for his performance in various projects. His recent releases ‘Pathu Thala’ and ’August 16, 1947’ garnered phenomenal response for his acting.
Currently, the actor is working on many projects that include ‘Criminal’ and ‘Mr. X’, which are scheduled at different stages of production. Marking the special occasion of Gautham Karthik’s birthday, an official announcement on his new project is out now.
Writer-director Raju Murugan, whose films delve into the realistic native lives of ordinary people, and political scenarios of contemporary times, has penned dialogues for this film. His former assistant Dhina Raghavan is making his directorial debut through this movie.
Shedding light on the film, director Dhina Raghavan says, “The film will depict the local political dynamics of an area such as Taramani in South Chennai, utilizing straightforward events intertwined with elements of political satire while remaining close to the reality. We have characterized Gautham Karthik’s role as a local boy in the neighborhood, where politics is intense. This will be totally different from what he has done so far, and his character will make us feel like a boy in our home.”
The film is tentatively titled as ‘GK 19’, and is produced by A.P.V. Maran of M.G. Studios, and ‘Dada’ fame director Ganesh K Babu. The official announcement on the film’s cast and crew will be revealed soon. The shooting will go on floors shortly, and makers are planning to release the film in Summer 2025.
