YOGA FOR HUMANITY – INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2022 celebrated by Dr. J Radhakrishnan, Ms.Varsha Aswani, Mr.Anand Nair, Ms. Mona Bafna, Smt. Sumathi Srinivasan, Dr. Srimathy Kesan &  Ms. Krithika Radhakrishnan initiated by ‘BORN TO WIN’ Foundation.
Themed as ‘Yoga for Humanity’, Chennai city observed ‘International Yoga Day’ on June 21, 2022,  to raise awareness for keeping alive the holistic route to better health. An Initiative by ‘Born to Win Research Foundation Trust’, the day was celebrated with great gratification & joy by conducting 15 days of Yoga Challenge as a countdown to this significant day between June 6 & 21, 2022, & with a Yoga Session in the early morning of this day to raise awareness about its benefits for health & well-being.


Joining hands with Hotel Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park, the Yoga session was conducted between 06.30 & 08.30 AM at the hotel. The contestants of the Yoga challenge & the invitees who could influence the society participated with an aim for keeping in mind the significant mental, physical and emotional strife caused by the pandemic.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Honourable Ex- Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare for the State of Tamil Nadu & present Principal Secretary for Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, Dr. J Radhakrishnan, IAS, the Founder & CEO of The Twilite Group & the Inspirational Entrepreneur of Transforming Lives, Smt. Sumathi Srinivasan, The Founder & CEO of Space Kidz India, Dr. Srimathy Kesan & the Founder & CEO of Arkay Production, Ms. Krithika Radhakrishnan,  Ms.Varsha Aswani, Mr.Anand Nair, Ms. Mona Bafna.
This yoga session attended by special chief guests along with more than 100 participants conducted by Guru Darshana Jain at the venue.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal Secretary, Dr. Radhakrishnan, IAS mentioned, “In the recent past, every one of us have gone through a lot of stress due to pandemic. However, many of us have added ‘Yoga’ into our lives which helped us build good health & combat many other diseases related to lungs & heart. Yoga is the best way to start the day. On this special occasion of International Yoga Day, I am really grateful to witness this event & take part in performing Yoga today.” Dr. J Radhakrishnan further shared his appreciation to Varsha, Founder of Born to Win & all the other associated partners for creating awareness on this day, especially after considering the fact that the last couple of years have caused significant mental, physical and emotional strife for many due to the pandemic and there is a greater need for inculcating better health practices through yoga.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Sumathi Srinivasan stated, “In 2015, our Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi announced the significant day for healthy being & it is my earnest request to all of you to make Yoga as your daily practice to enhance your lifestyle with good health. I’ve been practicing Yoga for 25 years & everyone must add Yoga into their life as much as they could.”

Speaking about his association with the celebration, General Manager of Hotel Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park, Mr. Anand Nair stated, “WE ARE INDEED HAPPY TO BE ASSOCIATED AS THE VENUE PARTNER and welcome all our guests who have come forward together today to promote and celebrate A discipline that leads to a happy soul, a fresh mind, and a healthy body.”

Expressing her immense gratitude to all the contestants, participants, invitees, associate partners, the Founder of Born to Win Research Foundation Trust, Ms. Varsha Aswani stated, “Originated in India thousand years ago, Yoga is known as an age-old tradition that helps achieve physical, mental and spiritual harmony. It is useful to a person’s overall health and focuses on the correct functioning of the body and mind. Our trust always believes in Humanity first, and aims to inspire & educate about it in first place. Yoga is a significant tool to fix our lifestyle to a make it a healthier one. It is being practised in several countries across the globe & US alone has about 80%+ Yoga Practitioners. It is very necessary for someone to take an initiative to talk about Yoga & benefits in India and thus, we endeavoured to spread awareness the whole month. I would whole-heartedly would like to thank the chief guests who graced this occasion & inspired many, Mona Bafna, the Founder of Soul & Body, Mr. Anand Nair & all the partners associated with the event.”

Further stating the significance of Yoga in our daily lives, Founder of Soul & Body, Ms. Mona Bafna stated, “Yoga adds years to your life, and life to your year.  With the discipline espousing mindfulness, moderation and perseverance, yoga shall encourage people to have a healthy lifestyle.”
