~One of the largest inter-school sports meet in the city, the School Olympics witnessed students from grades 1 to 12 competing for top honors with overall champions bagging ₹20,000 in cash prizes~

 Chennai, In a display of talent, determination, and the relentless spirit of competition, Casagrand International School hosted ‘1st edition of School Olympics’one of the city’s largest inter-school sports meets, held in Chennai. Bringing together over 1400 student-athletes from 77 schools from different districts of Tamil Nadu. the event witnessed students from grades 1 to 12 competing in a series of exhilarating events, setting the stage for an unforgettable day of fierce competition and camaraderie.

The event kicked off with immense enthusiasm, as the national flag was hoisted, setting the tone for a day filled with energy and competitive spirit. The opening ceremony featured a vibrant troop parade, followed by the ceremonial torch lighting, symbolizing the pursuit of excellence and determination. The Chief Guest, Ms. Dorothy Thomas, Correspondent, Casagrand International School then officially declared the School Olympics open, marking the beginning of an unforgettable day of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Spanning a broad spectrum of events, students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of events, including sprints such as 50m, 100m, 600m, 800m, and 1500m races, Long Jump and Shot Put, as well as engaging team competitions like relays. The event provided a vibrant platform for young talent, transforming the grounds into a high-energy arena, buzzing with excitement and the spirit of unity, as athletes cheered for each other and celebrated every victory, big or small.

Adding to the excitement, the School Olympics featured individual championships and an overall school trophy. Winners were rewarded for their outstanding performances, with the champion receiving a cash prize of ₹20,000 and the runner-up taking home ₹10,000, along with medals, trophies, and certificates of achievement.
